ReceptionistChilworth Court
Location: Chilworth Court Aparthotel, Bayswater, London W2 | On-site | Full-time | Permanent | Reporting to the Reservations Manager | Start: Late September 2026
Chilworth Court is Urban Chic's elegant aparthotel in the heart of Bayswater, a short walk from Paddington and Hyde Park, with beautifully appointed apartments from studios to spacious three-bedroom units. We're looking for a Receptionist to be the sole front-of-house presence in the building: you set the tone for every arrival, keep the day running smoothly and act as our eyes and ears on site, with full support from Head Office. It's a role with real ownership for someone who loves hospitality and is comfortable running their own desk.
What you'll do
- Welcome guests and manage check-in and check-out, including early arrivals and late check-ins
- Look after guests throughout their stay — enquiries, requests, complaints, local recommendations and upsell opportunities
- Keep the reservation system (Guesty) accurate: guest profiles, payments, modifications and cancellations, liaising with the Reservations Team
- Inspect apartments daily and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance so every apartment is ready on time and to standard
- Log shift notes, incidents and guest feedback; prepare daily summaries for the Reservations Manager
- Carry out routine safety and compliance checks (fire exits, security doors, reception area) and follow all health, safety and emergency procedures
- Monitor reception, guest and linen supplies and flag replenishment to the Operations Manager
- Act as an after-6pm point of contact for guests at other Urban Chic properties
What we're looking for
- Front-of-house, reception or guest-services experience in a hotel, aparthotel or serviced apartments
- A natural host: warm, polished and calm under pressure, with excellent spoken and written English
- Comfortable working alone and taking ownership of a building, with the judgement to know when to escalate
- Organised and accurate with systems, payments and records; confident with reservation/PMS software (Guesty experience a plus) and OTA platforms
- Flexible to work a shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays
- Right to work in the UK
Hours, pay and benefits
- Full-time, permanent: 182 hours per month on a 07:00–19:00 shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays, with two paid 30-minute breaks per shift
- £13.00 per hour (c. £28,400 per year at contracted hours), paid monthly; additional authorised hours taken as time off in lieu
- 28 days' paid annual leave including bank holidays, your birthday off, refer-a-friend scheme and full training
- Six-month probation
Why Urban Chic
- A standalone role with genuine responsibility and visibility to the leadership team
- A boutique, design-led property and a friendly, close-knit team
- Part of Chic Group, a growing vertically integrated real estate group across London and Abu Dhabi
- Room to grow into reservations, operations or property management
