The Grosvenor family wanted to redevelop the area and went on to build homes for the aristocracy and most famously the three great squares of Grosvenor Square, Hanover Square and Berkeley Square. World War I saw the decline of the aristocracy, many whose families owned great houses in Mayfair, and around that time many of the houses were sold off or became foreign embassies.
Today Mayfair has held its position as one of the most exclusive areas in the world and it is still home to many embassies and high end businesses including the auction houses of Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Bonhams. It remains packed full of many fabulous hoses and apartments and our Urban Chic Mayfair serviced apartments are no exception. Located on the doorstep of the famous Selfridges Department Store they really are in a great location. You really don’t even need to get the tube to see the best of London! Simply head down New Bond Street and Old Bond Street and you will find yourself right by the Burlington Arcade and Fortnum & Mason for a host of luxury shopping. Drop by a top notch hotel for afternoon tea. You can take your pick from Claridge’s, The Hilton Hotel, The Dorchester, The Ritz and The Grosvenor House Hotel!
Finally if you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind then head for the Royal Parks of Hyde Park or Green Park. If you are feeling really brave you can even take a dip in the Serpentine, and a short stroll later be back in our luxury Mayfair serviced apartments to get ready to hit the West End for the evening.
Who couldn’t fail to be impressed?
