Bayswater

Bayswater is known to be one of London’s most cosmopolitan areas, as the population ranges from ancestral Britons to a sizeable Arab population towards Edgware Road, a large Greek community, Americans and London’s main Brazilian community. Situated within the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in West London, bordering the north of Kensington Gardens.

You can expect to be welcomed by a diverse local population in Bayswater, which is augemented by a high concentration of hotels. The streets and garden squares will be noticable with Victoria stucco terraces, and modern properties ranging from apartments and small studio flats. Baywaters has a happening ambience, with its cultural and social mix which are reflected by the amazing variety of restaurants, cafes and food stores lined up along Queensway. A strong sense of community lays within Bayswater and its residents. Historically, Bayswater is famous for London's first department store Whiteleys, and for having the the highest amount of hotels in London. The impressive architecture among Bayswater is something to surely see and be amazed by. The Georgian squares and terraces still exist today, but the real urbanisation began with the arrival of the railway in Paddington in 1838.

Bayswater grew towards being more affluent as the properties become gardner and the smart Italianate terraces of the early 1850s are still among the most desireable properties in the area. Bayswater had spent declaying houses being split or converted into budget hotels in the 20th century, but with the influxes of Middle eastern, American and Brazillian properties and the help with government money, has helped transform Bayswater into a the cosmopolitan area of London today.
